Rémy Martin is a large family-run cognac house founded in 1724.

- Customer project -

Rémy Martin is building a new cellar to store its barrels. Given the number of barrels to be stored, the storage area had to be made denser and the full height of the building had to be exploited.

- The Provost solution -

A metal platform on 2 levels covered with metal gratings and profiles for aligning and handling the barrels. This solution ensures employee safety and facilitates barrel handling.

Exploiting the height of the building with a 2-level platform

In keeping with Rémy Martin's desire to "create a winery that optimizes barrel storage capacity without building", we propose to install a 2-level platform.

These 2 new levels, plus the ground, will create a storage area of 3,000 m², representing over 5,000 barrels stored and 41,000 hectolitres of cognac conserved.

The professionalism and efficiency of our fitters enabled us to deliver this project in record time: just 3 months of assembly!

A technical solution that ensures employee safety

Another problem faced by Rémy Martin is the risk incurred by its employees when filling barrels.

In a conventional barrel storage system, the barrels are handled empty. Once installed, they are filled and then stored for 10 years to obtain a quality cognac.

With a conventional pallet racking system, however, it is necessary to enter the structure to fill the barrels. This procedure puts operators at risk.

Our platform solution makes it possible to exploit the building's headroom without stacking barrels on top of each other. In fact, our project proposes only 2 levels of barrels per "floor", arranged in staggered rows.

Filling the barrels becomes a simple and safe operation, as access to the barrels is simply via the aisles, and all that's required is to connect the barrel to the pumping system.
