Concrete actions
- Energy-saving policy: monitoring and reducing energy consumption: limiting heating, replacing neon lighting with low-energy LEDs, etc.
- Conserving water resources: monitoring and reducing fresh water consumption by optimizing the frequency of changing degreasing baths.
- Reduce, reuse and recycle waste: reduce paper consumption for catalog printing, donate equipment to associations, recycle steel scrap.
- Encouraging soft mobility: installation of terminals for electric/hybrid cars, bicycle shelters and/or dedicated car-pooling spaces on our sites.
Our social and human rights initiatives
As a family-run business with strong values, Provost Distribution has always placed people and social relations at the heart of its concerns.
Health & Safety for our employees and stakeholders
Several actions have been implemented in the field:
- A safety welcome booklet is handed out on arrival at production sites, and an internal audit and risk reporting system are in place to ensure pro-active action. A CSSCT (Health, Safety and Working Conditions Commission) also proposes solutions and preventive actions to combat occupational hazards.
- Regularaudits of assembly service providers.
Promoting diversity and inclusion
- An anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policy and an ethics charter have been deployed internally.
- Collaboration with local companies employing people with disabilities has been favored for some of its services.
Improving working conditions
We are committed to promoting a healthy balance between work and personal life, offering flexible working hours and fringe benefits, all within a framework that encourages listening and exchange. The company defends the right to disconnect.
Provost promotes the practice of sport within the company: free pilates classes, tennis lessons at preferential rates, the "Mai à vélo" challenge...
Supporting our local communities
As a committed local player, Provost actively participates in sponsorship programs and partnerships with local organizations, through donations:
- Material donations to various associations, office furniture for Emmaüs, computer equipment for Clowns de l'espoir, etc.
- Participation in association events and project financing: solidarity race, sponsorship, etc.
Our actions for responsible products
Adopt a responsible purchasing policy
- Tending towards local and certified purchases for certain materials, including wood.
- Implementing a supplier code of conduct to share our vision of CSR practices within our value chain.
Offering a more sustainable and circular product range
- Provost's vocation is to offer products that will stand the test of time: products are tested many times to optimize their resistance, and spare parts can be manufactured even after the end of product manufacturing.
- Production is internalized as much as possible at our sites in Europe (France, Portugal and Poland)
In recognition of its commitment,
Provost has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal for 2024!
Understanding the EcoVadis assessment
EcoVadis is a global organization recognized for its CSR performance ratings. Using a methodology based on international standards, EcoVadis evaluates companies on their commitment and concrete actions.
This rating is the result of a rigorous assessment covering key areas such as ethics, the environment, working conditions, human rights and responsible purchasing.
Over and above declarative commitments, EcoVadis uses documentary evidence to verify the reality of the assessed company's commitments. For stakeholders, this is an indicator that the company is on the right track in terms of CSR.
Towards a more responsible future
Receiving the EcoVadis Silver Medal is recognition of our advanced CSR approach to more sustainable and responsible business practices.
It testifies to our efforts to structure our sustainability management and our clear understanding of CSR issues.
While we are honoured by this recognition, we are fully aware that it is not an end in itself.
Our ambition is not limited to maintaining this level: we aim for constant improvement, because for Provost, CSR is much more than just a label. It is a profound approach that will guide our decisions, our actions and our ambitions for the future.
