Information

How pushback storage works

The Pushback accumulation storage system is particularly innovative in its loading method. When loading, the operator places the pallet at the entrance to the corridor on a mobile frame sliding on a metal rail. This principle enables all pallets on the same level, except the last one, to be placed on nesting frames that move by pushing on rails. The pallets are then lowered by gravity for greater efficiency.

The forklift truck does not enter the storage facility, which prevents products from falling on staff and the risk of snagging the system. This does, however, require a truck with a tilting mast for optimum pallet handling.

The PROVOST Pushback carrier also features a fill indicator, so that operators can easily locate the available compartments for depositing pallets. Pushback lanes can store from 2 to 9 pallets deep, with loads of up to 1,200 kg. Several part numbers can also be stored in front of each other, offering great flexibility in stock management.

The Pushback storage system is also suitable for use in refrigerated warehouses, making it an ideal solution for companies operating in this sector. Finally, it's important to note that Pushback racking can also be offered with through-rollers for even more efficient stock management.

The advantages of pushback dynamic storage

The Pushback dynamic storage system offers numerous advantages for companies seeking to optimize their inventory management. It enables LIFO (last-in, first-out) storage, suitable for medium-rotation goods, which considerably improves order-picking times.

In addition, Pushback accumulation storage increases storage capacity compared to conventional storage solutions with aisles. Pushback lanes can store from 2 to 9 pallets deep, making efficient use of available space. Last but not least, the Pushback storage system is much more flexible than the Drive-in storage system, as it can manage several SKUs per location, simplifying inventory management and facilitating product access.
