Project Cubyn
Cubyn is a start-up specializing in logistics for e-tailers. The company offers a logistics outsourcing service including warehousing, order preparation, packaging and parcel dispatch.
The project
Following exponential demand from its e-merchant customers, Cubyn urgently needed to fit out a 6,000m² logistics warehouse.
The Provost solution
Use the full height of the building with a mezzanine platform, multiplying the storage area by 2.5. At the same time, the logistics provider was able to maintain its order-picking activity during assembly.

Installation of a logistics storage platform with no interruption to operations
By proposing to use the height of the building and install a 2,500 m2 platform equipped with sheet metal shelving within a short timeframe, Provost was able to meet Cubyn's requirements.

Design, manufacture, delivery, assembly
It took just 4 weeks to build the platform, deliver the first batch and start work on the site.
As the site doesn't allow us to store the materials delivered indoors, we had to adapt! Deliveries are scheduled every 15 days, and the site is divided into 4 phases.

Setting up and maintaining business
The challenge was to carry out the work without impacting Cubyn's logistics activity, even though the 100 platform posts are located at the heart of the picking cell.
The assembly conditions were particularly complex, but solutions were found with Provost's assembly department.
"We had to find a solution that would disrupt Cubyn's business as little as possible. This was complicated by the fact that the platform's 100 posts are located in the heart of the picking area. We therefore concentrated assembly operations from 1pm to 8pm to enable Cubyn operators to prepare orders in the morning. A Cubyn team was assigned to clear the site areas before securing and starting assembly."

A storage solution perfectly adapted to logistics needs
The items entrusted to Cubyn by its customers are highly varied in nature(cosmetics, clothing, toys, electronics), and their packaging is uncalibrated. The 330,000 SKUs are stored in a multitude of small, separate locations throughout the site.
We therefore propose a layout and elevations of PROSPACE+ sheet metal shelving, particularly adapted to facilitate picking by hundreds of operators.
This shelving system offers several advantages for CUBYN's business:
- The sheet metal shelving enables all kinds of items of different sizes to be stored in heterogeneous packaging (cartons, plastic bags, boxes).
- Elevations are adjustable in 40 mm increments, and can be easily adjusted to the height of the items stored.
- The edge of the sheet metal shelf is designed to receive the location labels that will be scanned by operators during order picking.
- Shelves are fitted with dividers that can be adjusted to suit the width of the bin.
Support throughout the project
Following a request from cubyn concerning valuable items, particularly electronics, from some of its e-merchant customers, a secure area, enclosed by the Modul+ wire mesh partition, was set up to protect these items.
What made the difference in this project, apart from the technical solution and the initial layout, was the proximity, follow-up and responsiveness of the Provost sales team, capable of modifying layouts and quotations within 48 hours.
