A fine family history
From the manufacture of wooden chairs to steel shelving, nothing predestined Claude Provost, the company's founder, to become one of France's leading shelving manufacturers.
In the early 60s, Claude Provost began manufacturing wooden furniture and set up shop in the center of Halluin, near Lille. He soon realized the potential of the storage world and created his first shelving system: "Le Protub "! He patented a new boltless, screwless assembly process. This revolutionary idea made a name for itself in France, enabling the company to expand steadily.
Provost Distribution constantly innovates, launching the new Prorack® (1972), Prospace® (1974), Probar® and Proplus® (1980) shelving systems. Claude Provost continued to build on his success until his death in 1989. His two daughters took over the management of the company and successfully continued his work. In 1997, Provost moved its head office and logistics division to Neuville-en-Ferrain (Nord). At the same time, a policy of acquiring companies was initiated to complete the company's offering.
Since 1963, Provost has remained a family-run business, consolidating its position as France's leading manufacturer of shelving and peripheral solutions.

Our production facilities are spread over 4 manufacturing units (2 in Halluin with 60,000 m2, 1 in Strasbourg and 1 in Poland). In all, 700 people are at your service to find the industrial solution that meets your needs.
Over 80% of our products are made in France. We have 10,000 standard references available from stock, and of course we also offer customized solutions.
To meet all your expectations, Provost Distribution has a CAD/CAM design office staffed by 20 expert engineers and technicians, who are responsible for designing specific products. Provost can support you in your developments, we have the capacity to create prototypes and custom requests then produce small and large series. We regularly invest in cutting-edge equipment (presses, roll-formers, tablet machines, paint booths, etc.) to anticipate market demands and keep pace with changing standards and customer requirements.

Provost is the only shelving manufacturer to be awarded the Label Origine France for its metal shelving business. Provost's aim is to use local production facilities as a guarantee of quality and reliability, and to guarantee a high level of logistical responsiveness.

Provost has over 15,000 m² of warehousing space at its disposal, enabling us to deliver your goods as quickly as possible. We have a delivery service that takes charge of your products directly from the factories, with 70% of orders delivered within 5 working days.
Provost also offers an assembly service that accompanies you from A to Z to help you save time, assemble and install your equipment. Our assembly service operates throughout France to serve you better. All our partners have signed a charter to ensure a quality of service that lives up to Provost's high standards. Our teams make appointments to be present as soon as your products are delivered, install them according to the rules, manage the packaging and leave your site clean.
